| How long does it take? |
Binding style is the key determination for production time. For layout services, proofs, printing and the basic thermal binding, our standard production time is 7 to 10 days from the time we receive all of your materials. Express production these services can be done as fast as 24 hours. Very large orders or the more involved binding styles (double notch fan, flush mount and sewn styles) may require up to 4 to 5 weeks to complete due to set up time. Please call to find out what the fastest turn around is for your order. Shipping time is the second consideration. For ground service please call us for estimated time in route. 2nd day and next day service are options available at checkout. |
| Do I get my photos back and how do you ship them? |
Everything you send us is sent back to you in a carefully packaged box or envelope. The standard service is shipped using Fedex home or ground delivery service. You can choose an express level of service on checkout. All packages ship with signature required on delivery. We can provide shipping insurance, if requested. |
| Where is the work on my photos completed? |
All scanning, layout and printing is done in our main studio in Portland, Maine. Our thermal binding is also done in this studio. Double notch fan, sewn and flush mount bindings are done with our partner who specializes in these formats. |
| How should I send you my materials? |
If you are sending us original photos, we recommend packing your items in a sturdy box that does not allow much shifting. Additionally putting your media into a plastic bag (sandwich bags are great for this!), will help to protect against moistures. Send your media with a tracking number either through Fedex or US Post. | What happens once my media reaches Save the Image? |
Once we receive your media you will receive an email and your online account (we will create one for you if you did not place the order online) will reflect that we have everything and have begun to process the order. Once your order has been carefully digitized, it is placed back on the shelf until it has passed a quality review check. At this point everything is packaged and a shipping tracking number is sent to you. |
| What does my online account do? |
This account lets you place orders, track the status of existing orders, preview past orders, add different shipping addresses. It also provides a link to a private gallery where digitized media can be downloaded (this is an option when placing your order). |
| How do I manage color if providing you print ready files? |
Color management is the process of ensuring what you see on your screen shows up on the printed page. To learn more about color management visit this article. |
| Can I order more copies? |
We generally archive books for up to 30 days to allow for reprints unless other arrangements have been made to archive for longer periods. |
| How long do I have to review the order? |
You have 7 days from the time your order is delivered back to you to review for any inaccuracies. If we have made a mistake we will glady re-scan or digitally fix the image. |
